Instruction
I am an active instructor of classical drawing and painting, offering in-person classes and workshops at Sanctuary Arts in Eliot, Maine. Full and half scholarships may be available to students of all ages.
Since 2021, I’ve been a co-teacher at the online Aristides Atelier, led by my former teacher, Juliette Aristides.
I also work privately with individual students. Most meetings are held online via Zoom, though I periodically meet with local students in person. Weekly, bi-weekly, or custom schedules are available. Feel free to send me a message for more information.
From time to time, I offer online workshops as well. Subscribe to my newsletter to be the first to hear about upcoming sessions.
Student Testimonials
“It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.”
— Julie, Mississippi, U.S.A.
“Over many years, I’ve studied with many instructors. My favorite painting of all time is a portrait I painted in a class with Josh Langstaff. It now hangs in my dining room, where I can admire it every day. Josh is a generous and insightful painter and instructor.”

“I had the privilege of studying with Josh in the Aristides Atelier. It was a special opportunity to learn from such a great artist. But more than that, it was a real gift to study with someone so talented and so deeply committed as a teacher. His kindness, patience, and encouragement were part of every session. Even though it’s been some time since I studied with him, his words and personal example have stayed with me—always encouraging, always inspiring.”
